Fibroids and Cysts
Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Treat Fibroids
Uterine fibroids affect up to 80% of woman. Although fibroids can go undetected without any symptoms with woman under the age of 30, they tend to grow and become problematic during a woman’s 30’ and 40’s. Unfortunately the current protocol by most OB/Gyn’s for woman without symptoms is to ignore the fibroids as treatment is deemed unnecessary. However, if ignored one is only procrastinating treatment and running the risk of the fibroids suddenly growing and becoming problematic a few years later. Once problematic, the types of treatment available are limited and may not be very effective. The larger they grow, the more problematic they become. With a success rate of 94% clinical cure of uterine fibroids with acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine for fibroids 5cm or smaller in size, it is highly recommended that you do not ignore your fibroids just because they do not bother you. The fact they are present is saying something is wrong with your reproductive system. Do not wait. Take action as soon as possible.
According to the National Institute of Health the Cause or Fibroids is Unknown
Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous fibrous tumors that can grow in and around the uterine wall. As mentioned above they can be small and without symptoms. There may only be one, but many times there can be several. Given the best of today’s scientific biomedical knowledge according to the National Institute of Health, it is unknown as to what causes fibroids. Some facts that are known is that they appear during a woman’s reproductive years, they are influenced by hormone levels of estrogen and progesterone, and symptoms can change during a cycle. African-American women are more likely to experience fibroids, and symptoms are usually more severe for women aged 30 to 50. Uterine fibroids may shrink and become asymptomatic after a woman reaches menopause.
Symptoms of uterine fibroids can vary from nothing at all, to severe pain, heavy irregular uterine bleeding that can cause anemia. Additionally, uterine fibroids may cause pain during sex, pain during periods, frequent urination, lower back pain, painful bowel movements, infertility, problematic pregnancies, miscarriage and premature births.
Doctors or Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Have Been Treating Fibroids for Thousands of Years
Traditional Chinese Medicine includes acupuncture, traditional Chinese herbs, diet and nutrition, therapeutic exercises and cognitive lifestyle and stress management techniques. In addition to recognizing all of the above discussed known facts about uterine fibroids, since Doctor’s of TCM have been treating uterine fibroids for thousands of years, there are two other known facts that they have documented as being associated with uterine fibroids. Doctors of TCM have noted that poor blood circulation and poor lymphatic drainage systemically and in and around a woman’s uterus are commonly associated with uterine fibroids. This makes sense as it is a well known fact that blood circulation to the ovaries and uterus are 70% less for a woman in her 30’s and 40’s when compared to a woman in her 20’s or reproductive prime. Having documented this fact over the last few thousand years there are several traditional Chinese herbal formula available depending upon symptoms to treat, shrink and remove uterine fibroids. In fact, today’s scientific biomedical body of knowledge does recognize that acupuncture is the best to increase circulation to the uterus. Fibroids thrive in an environment of blood that is slow moving and poorly oxygenated combined with poor lymphatic drainage. This leaves uterine tissue poorly nourished with an accumulation of toxic fluids that lead to fibroid growth. Thus, women with excellent circulation and lymphatic drainage may not have uterine fibroids despite a hormonal imbalance.
Being treated for early for uterine fibroids shares all the concepts of treatments for fertility maintenance and therefore creates a win : win situation. By being treated early you maintain your fertility quotient while eliminating a factor that may cause stress and delays if and when you decide to conceive.

Dr. Barrett’s Testimonials for Treating Uterine Fibroids and Ovarian Cysts with Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine:
Priscilla, Age 36: “Having been diagnosed with an enlarging tumor on my right ovary, I was informed by my doctor that I would need immediate surgery. It occurred to me that cutting a growth was merely treating the symptom of the problem and not the root. I opted to pursue acupuncture as an alternative treatment for the tumor and ultimate surgery. After working with John for about 7 weeks, I was retested to find that the growth had disappeared – rendering the surgery unnecessary. It was a magical and rapid result. I am very grateful to have worked with John in pursuing this treatment and recommend him without hesitation.”
Elizabeth, Age 32: “Just wanted to let you know that I went in today and my OB/Gyn determined that the cyst was gone So any way that is great news, just thought I’d let you know.”
